Public lecture by Ambassador Dr. Arman Kirakossian

On March 6 Dr. Arman Kirakossian, Ambassador of Armenia to Austria and representative to the OSCE and other international organizations in Vienna, delivered a public presentation titled: Armenia's Foreign Policy. Combining Interests and Opportunities", organized by the Vienna-based International Center for Advanced and Comparative Russia/NIS Research (ICEUR).


Representatives of Austrian and International centers for political studies, university researchers, political analysts, representatives of media and diplomatic missions attended the lecture.

The Vice-President of the Center, Professor of Political Science Hans-Jorg Heinrich delivered opening remarks, briefing the audience about the actuality of the lecture topic, and then gave the fllor to Ambassador Kirakossian. The latter told about the problems facing the Republic of Armenia after the independence and the Armenian vision of their solution, then touched upon the involvement of Armenia in international and regional integration processes, presenting the importance of Armenia's accession to the Euroasian Economic Union and the recent cooperation with the EU and the signing of the CEPA agreement.

Responding to the audience's questions, Ambassador Kirakossian touched upon the political reforms in Armenia, the recent economic development, the 30th anniversary of the Karabakh Movement, Armenia's efforts to resolve the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, regional issues, as well as the recent developments in the context of Armenian-Turkish relations.
