Madame Chair,

Armenia thanks the Director General for his Report on Nuclear Safety, Security and Safeguards in Ukraine.

We express our appreciation with the persistence of the Agency and its ISAM teams in discharging their mandate and value the dedication of its experts for ensuring the monitoring and assessment of the situation against the seven indispensable pillars and five concrete principles, sometimes at high risk for their own lives.

It is regrettable that the Agency continues to face challenges in obtaining guarantees and ensuring the safety of the ISAMZ teams during the reporting period, resulting in delays in their rotations. We call upon all parties to take necessary measures to ensure safe and secure rotations on time and in full.

We take note of the Agency's assessment that the military activities continue to put the overall nuclear safety and security of the plants at great risk. Time and again Armenia reiterates its firm position on the inadmissibility of an armed attack or threat of attack against peaceful nuclear and associated facilities.

In this regard, Armenia recalls the GC resolutions 27/407, 29/444, 31/475, 34/533 and decision 53/13, which, in particular, recognize prohibition of attacks on and threats against nuclear facilities devoted to peaceful purposes and urge all Member States to make, individually and through competent international bodies, further continuous efforts aimed at the prompt adoption of binding international rules prohibiting armed attacks against all nuclear installations devoted to peaceful purposes. We call upon all Member States to be abreast of the catastrophic consequences that the world can face amid nuclear incident and to follow their political commitments in this regard.

Thank you.
