Vienna, September 11 — Ambassador Andranik Hovhannisyan, Permanent Representative of the Republic of Armenia to the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), delivered the closing statement of Armenia’s two-year tenure as a member of the IAEA Board of Governors.

Ambassador Hovhannisyan highlighted the honor and responsibility of serving on the Board, underscoring Armenia’s commitment to supporting the IAEA’s mission and advancing its vital mandate.

He expressed gratitude to member states for entrusting him with the role of Vice-Chair of the Board over the passing year.  

Ambassador Andranik Hovhannisyan noted Armenia’s active and constructive participation in the Board’s deliberations and decision-making processes. He emphasized that Armenia’s approach throughout its tenure was guided by the principles of diplomacy, dialogue, and mutual respect.

Reaffirming Armenia’s unwavering support for the IAEA, Ambassador Hovhannisyan reiterated the country’s readiness to continue close cooperation with all stakeholders and to remain a committed contributor to the Agency’s mission.

In conclusion, he extended sincere appreciation to the Chairperson of the Board of Governors, the IAEA Director General, fellow representatives, and the IAEA Secretariat for their collaboration and support during Armenia’s service on the Board.
