Armenian National Philharmonic Orchestra performed a concert in Bratislava dedicated to Armenia's Independence Day

22 September, 2024

On September 22, as part of the 59th Bratislava Music Festival, the Armenian National Philharmonic Orchestra performed a concert dedicated to Armenia’s Independence Day.

The concert, held under the honorary patronage of the Armenian Embassy to Slovakia, took place in the packed Concert Hall of the Slovak Philharmonic and was followed by a reception attended by representatives from Slovak Ministries and numerous ambassadors accredited in Bratislava.

H.E. Armen Papikyan, Ambassador of Armenia to Slovakia, delivered a welcome address. He reflected on the historic significance of Armenia’s Independence Day, noting that 33 years ago, the Armenian people realized their centuries-old aspiration for freedom and sovereignty. The ambassador paid tribute to all the heroes who sacrificed their lives for Armenia’s independence. He also highlighted the plight of Armenian prisoners of war and Armenians of Nagorno-Karabakh, expressing his hope for their swift release and fortitude.

In his speech, Ambassador Papikyan emphasized the mutually beneficial cooperation between Armenia and Slovakia, expressing confidence that the two nations will continue to foster relations based on mutual respect, trust, and shared values, to the benefit of both peoples.
