Madam Chair,

At the outset, we wish to express our gratitude to you, the Vice-Chairs, and the Provisional Technical Secretariat for the preparations for this session.

We also thank the Executive Secretary, Dr. Robert Floyd, for his opening statement and his report on non-verification related activities during the period April to August 2025.

We further thank the Advisory Group for its report and the recommendations contained therein.

Madam Chair,

As a steadfast supporter of the global non-proliferation agenda, Armenia reiterates its unwavering commitment to the objectives of the Comprehensive Nuclear-Test-Ban Treaty. We continue to encourage Annex 2 States to sign and ratify the Treaty at the earliest opportunity. In this regard, Armenia commends the convening of the Article XIV Conference held in September in New York and welcomes the adoption of the Final Declaration in support of the Treaty’s universalization and entry into force.

Madam Chair,

We welcome the final draft of the 2026–2027 Programme and Budget Proposals prepared by the Provisional Technical Secretariat. Ensuring the sustainability and effectiveness of the verification regime, particularly through the IMS Sustainment Strategy, remains of critical importance. We look forward to reaching consensus in this regard.

Madam Chair,

We consider capacity-building activities conducted by the PTS indispensable for the development of national expertise and strongly encourage the continuation and further enhancement of these training programmes and other capacity-building initiatives.

In conclusion, Armenia looks forward to engaging in constructive discussions throughout this session.

I thank you, Madam Chair.
