Participation of the Embassy of Armenia in Austria in 73rd Anniversary of liberation of Mauthausen and the Victory in the Great Patriotic War

On May 6, the staff of the Armenian representation in the Armenian Embassy in Austria and the Armenian representation in Vienna, headed by RA Ambassador Arman Kirakosyan, participated in the events dedicated to the 73rd anniversary of the liberation of the Mauthausen concentration camp near Linz, Austria.

Together with the delegations of the CIS and a number of other countries, the Embassy of Armenia put wreaths on the memorial plaques placed in the memorial complex of Armenia, Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan and Ukraine, as well as at the central monument of the European prisoners of war in the concentration camp. Then the Armenian delegation took part in the solemn ceremony attended by Austrian President Alexander Van der Bellen, Prime Minister Sebastian Kurz, chairmen of the two chambers of the Federal Parliament, ministers, MPs, delegations of diplomatic missions accredited in Austria, international and local organizations.

On May 9, the staff of the Armenian representation in Austria and representatives of the Armenian representation in Vienna, headed by Armenian Ambassador to Austria Dr. Arman Kirakossian, participated in solemn events in Vienna dedicated to the 73rd anniversary of the Victory of the USSR peoples in Great Patriotic War. Armenian diplomats participated in official ceremonies at the memorial of the Victims of the Great Patriotic War and the victory of Soviet Army at the Central Cemetery of Vienna, attended by members of the Austrian government, deputies, heads of diplomatic missions of former USSR accredited in Austria , diplomats, veterans, representatives of Armenian and other communities.

Then a reception was held on behalf of a number of CIS countries, including Armenia, in the Embassy of the Russian Federation in Vienna with the presentation of national dishes and drinks.

On the evening of the same day, the Embassy took part in the March of "Immortal Regiment”, organized at the Schwarzembergplatz square in Vienna.
