The visit of Ambassador Armen Papikyan to Vorarlberg

On May 20-21, H.E. Armen Papikyan, Ambassador of Armenia to Austria, paid a working visit to the state (Land) of Vorarlberg. The visit took place at the invitation of the Armenian Cultural Union of Vorarlberg (chairman: Davit Stepanyan).

On May 20, at the Bildstein Catholic Church (Basilika Maria Bildstein), Ambassador Papikyan participated in the liturgy performed by the the Patriarchal Delegate of the Armenian Apostolic Church for Central Europe and Scandinavia Bishop Tiran Petrosyan. On the same day, Ambassador Papikyan met with representatives of the Armenian community of Vorarlberg. The ambassador answered the questions of the community members.

On May 21, Ambassador Papikyan and Mayor of Schwarzach Thomas Schierle jointly planted a tree in the city of Schwarzach as a sign of the Armenian-Austrian friendship. At the end of the tree planting, a solemn event was held with the participation of the students of the Schwarzach Armenian Saturday School. Works of Armenian and Austrian composers were played, Armenian poems were read.

During the visit, the ambassador also held meetings in a number of regional institutions to discuss the prospects for the development of cooperation with Armenia in the fields of economy, tourism, education and science.
