Screening of "Grandma's Tattoo's" by Suzanne Khardalian in Vienna

On December 9, the International Day for the Commemoration and Dignity of Victims of Genocide and the Prevention of This Crime, on the initiative of the Armenian Embassy in Austria and in cooperation with the Vienna Wiesenthal Institute for Holocaust Studies (VWI) and Film Archiv Austria, Suzanne Khardalian‘s documentary "My Grandma's Tattoos" about the violence against women who survived the Armenian Genocide was screened at Metro Kinokulturhaus in Vienna.

Armen Papikyan, Ambassador of Armenia to Austria, and Jochen Böhler, Director of the Vienna Wiesenthal Institute delivered opening remarks. The screening was followed by an interactive discussion with director Suzan Khardalyan moderated by Zuzanna Dziuban from the Austrian Academy of Sciences.

The event was attended by ambassadors accredited in Vienna, diplomats, representatives of the Austrian Federal Ministry of European and Foreign Affairs, Parliament, as well as the Austrian Armenian community, journalists, artists, academia.
