Meeting of Deputy Foreign Minister of Armenia Robert Abisoghomonyan with President of the OPEC Fund for International Development Abdulhamid Alkhalifa

On June 26, in Vienna, Deputy Foreign Minister of Armenia Robert Abisoghomonyan met with Abdulhamid Alkhalifa, the President of the OPEC Fund for International Development.

The interlocutors commended the level of established cooperation between Armenia and the Fund. The programs implemented in Armenia with the support of the Fund, as well as the prospects for cooperation aimed at advancing Armenia’s development agenda, were discussed.

During the meeting, the preparatory works for the 17th meeting of the Conference of the Parties to the Convention on Biological Diversity (COP17), to be hosted by Armenia in 2026, were touched upon. The Deputy Foreign Minister of Armenia presented Armenia’s approach to hosting COP17, emphasizing the importance of ensuring transparency and the involvement of all relevant stakeholders.

Views were also exchanged on the potential involvement of the Fund within the framework of COP17.
