32nd OSCE Economic and Environmental Forum

11 September, 2026

On 10-11 September, the 32nd OSCE Economic and Environmental Forum was held in Prague under the theme “Strengthening security and stability in the OSCE area through anticipating technologies and science-based diplomacy”.

Within the framework of the Forum, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Trade of the Republic of Armenia Robert Abisoghomonyan delivered a keynote speech at the session “The role of science in diplomacy.” The Deputy Minister presented Armenia’s key priorities and vision as the incoming Presidency of the 17th Conference of the Parties to the Convention on Biological Diversity (COP17), highlighting the complementary roles of science and diplomacy in addressing global environmental challenges.

Permanent Representative of Armenia to the OSCE Andranik Hovhannisyan delivered a national statement at the Forum. In his remarks, Ambassador Hovhannisyan reflected on the impact of new and emerging technologies in the OSCE area, the opportunities they offer, as well as potential security challenges. He also presented Armenia’s experience in the areas of high- tech and innovation, touching upon the activities of the TUMO Center for Creative Technologies and the recently launched Firebird AI Factory.

Ambassador Hovhannisyan also touched upon the Trump Route for International Peace and Prosperity (TRIPP) initiative as an important factor in enhancing regional connectivity, creating new economic opportunities and promoting lasting peace, stability and prosperity in the South Caucasus.

Information note: The OSCE Economic and Environmental Forum is the main—and highest-level—annual event in the OSCE’s economic and environmental dimension. It takes stock of the implementation of the OSCE commitments, highlights the challenges and emerging threats, as well as explores the possibilities of reacting to and addressing them.
