Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure of the Republic of Armenia David Khudatyan met with IAEA Director General Rafael Mariano Grossi

On the sidelines of the 70th Session of the General Conference of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure of the Republic of Armenia David Khudatyan met today in Vienna with IAEA Director General Rafael Mariano Grossi.

The meeting was also attended by Andranik Hovhannisyan, Permanent Representative of the Republic of Armenia to the International Organizations in Vienna, Deputy Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure Narek Apitonyan, Director General of the Armenian Nuclear Power Plant CJSC Eduard Martirosyan, and other members of the Armenian delegation.

During the meeting, the parties discussed ongoing and planned projects within the framework of sectoral cooperation with the IAEA. In particular, they addressed the progress of the programme to extend the operating lifetime of Unit 2 of the Armenian Nuclear Power Plant, as well as issues related to the selection of a model for Armenia’s new nuclear power plant.

Minister Khudatyan also reaffirmed the invitation extended to Rafael Mariano Grossi to visit Armenia and participate in events planned within the framework of COP17.
