Meeting of the Ambassador of Armenia with the President of the PACE and the Head of the Austria–Armenia Parliamentary Friendship Group of the Austrian Parliament

08 July, 2026

On July 8, Ambassador Andranik Hovhannisyan held a meeting with President of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe and Chair of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the Austrian National Council, Petra Bayr, and Head of the Austria–Armenia Parliamentary Friendship Group, Martina von Künsberg Sarre.

Ambassador Hovhannisyan presented the foreign policy priorities of the Republic of Armenia and, in this context, exchanged views with his interlocutors on regional developments, the peace agenda, and the unblocking of interstate transport and communication links. Ambassador Hovhannisyan briefed his interlocutors on the outcome of parliamentary elections recently held in Armenia.

He further presented ongoing efforts to expand bilateral relations with Austria, including the promotion of trade and economic cooperation, as well as on the steps being taken to further deepen the Armenia–European Union partnership. He expressed gratitude to the Austrian side for its continued support for democracy in Armenia and underscored the importance of sustained cooperation.
