Ambassador Andranik Hovhannisyan has been elected as a Vice-President of the 13th session of the Conference of the Parties to the UN Convention against Transnational Organized Crime

19 October, 2026

On October 19, Permanent Representative of the Republic of Armenia to the International Organizations in Vienna Ambassador Andranik Hovhannisyan was elected as a Vice-President of the 13th session (COP13) of the Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Convention against Transnational Organized Crime (UNTOC). In this capacity, he presided one of the sessions of the Conference.

Ambassador Andranik Hovhannisyan also delivered a national statement, reaffirming Armenia’s readiness to cooperate with international partners toward the effective implementation of the Convention and its Protocols.

The statement touched upon, among others, Armenia’s efforts in combating human trafficking, smuggling of migrants, and illicit trafficking of firearms. Ambassador Hovhannisyan also addressed the initiatives aimed at strengthening national expertise through international cooperation.

UNTOC is the only global and legally binding instrument through which governments commit to taking action and cooperating in the fight against organized crime. The Conference convenes every two years to enhance capacities for combating organized crime, review the implementation of the Convention and its protocols, and set the agenda for the fight against crime.
