Armenian Organic Food and Beverage Exhibition in Vienna

On Monday, February 20, the Embassy of Armenia in Austria in association with the Austrian Development Agency organized the “Made in Armenia” organic food and beverages exhibition with participation of 10 Armenian organic food producing companies, which have received a huge support from the Austrian Development Agency and the the Fund for Rural Economic Development in Armenia” (FREDA). The Exhibition took place in the "Armenia" center of the Embassy of Armenia in Austria.

A number of high-ranking officials from the Austrian Federal Ministries for Europe, Integration and Foreign Affairs, Science and Economy, Agriculture, from Austrian Development Agency, Economic Chamber, members of the Austrian Parliament, representatives of Vienna municipal authorities, ambassadors and members of the diplomatic corps accredited to Austria, UN and the OSCE, representatives of the large and medium-sized local companies focusing on wholesale and retail, Austrian businessmen and traders attended the Exhibition.

On behalf of the Armenian Ambassador to Austria Dr. Arman Kirakossian First secretary of the Embassy of Armenia Dr. Arsen Arakelyan delivered the opening speech and said that it is a big honor and a privilege to launch official festivities on the occasion of the 25-th Anniversary of Establishment of the Diplomatic Relations between Armenia and Austria with the food-tasting exhibition marked with “Made in Armenia” logo. He briefly touched upon the utmost efforts by the Government of Austria to support Armenia since regaining the latter’s independence in order to strengthen the Armenian agricultural sector, and added that today’s event is the true manifestation of the outcome of such bilateral cooperation.

From the Austrian side Mr. Ersin Künzi, head of themes and quality department of the Austrian Development Agency, delivered a speech on behalf of the Agency’s director Mr. Martin Ledolter. He briefly addressed the potential of producing the organic food stuff in Armenia and in details presented the programs implemented over the last decade by the Agency in co-work with Armenian Government and Armenian private sector.

The guests and participants received the opportunity to taste the Armenian foods and drinks, being served at the Exhibition.
